Reggie and Dr. Adam Warren,

On the afternoon of December 13, 2014, I demonstrated that it was possible to push my right femur thru my right pelvis. It happened in a fall while bicycling on poorly maintained wet pavement on the steep winding downhill section of Morgan Territory Rd. Thankfully, after arriving at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, I was treated by Dr. Adam Warren. He performed two long surgeries to somehow reconstruct and screw together the shattered pelvis while preserving delicate arteries, veins and nerves. Although he set expectations that it would take a couple of years before being able to resume bicycling, I was able to go on my first bike ride on February 14, 2015 (2 months after the accident)

At the age of 62, I continue to cycle ~2,500 miles and 250,000 ft of climb per year and I'm forever indebted to Dr. Adam Warren for enabling me to carry on with my normal lifestyle.

In 2016 I was in an unfortunate horse riding accident where my horse flipped over on top of me. I fractured my pelvis in two places and needed surgery. Dr. Warren did an amazing job placing the hardware, and within 6 months I was back on my horse.

I saw Dr. Warren many times for the year following the accident, and through his guidance on physical therapy and rehab, I was in my first horse show again about a year after the accident. I continue to compete and despite some low grade nerve pain when the weather gets chilly, I have no pain. I am so thankful I was in Dr. Warren's hands when this happened. Horses are my passion in life and I can't imagine not being able to do what I love!

A year ago I suffered a very bad accident in my garden. I tripped over a tall sprinkler head, flew airborne onto the driveway and landed on my hip. The wonderful 911 folks got me to Eden Hospital and emergency surgery was scheduled. Lucky for me, Dr. Adam Warren was on duty. It was a very complicated surgery requiring rods and pins.

During my rehab, nurses, physical therapists and other doctors commented that Dr. Warren was the right person for the job. I would definitely recommend him for future surgery. Today I am back to hiking our local hills and swimming laps—and gardening!!

Hi, my name is Stephon Allen-Thomas I was in a dirt bike accident in March of 2021 I broke my Tibia, Pelvis, as well as my Hip. Dr. Warren, you are "The Best"

I had a freak accident at home in October 2017, falling hard and breaking my femoral neck. I lived alone, and because this was so unexpected, I wasn’t able to rally friends or family to be with me prior to my emergency surgery. However, I was comforted upon hearing repeatedly, “Oh, you’re so lucky, Dr. Warren will be your surgeon. He’s the best. You’re so lucky.” Uplifting words to hear through my agonizing pain and fear, and when I finally met him in pre-op, I knew this was true. His opening words were, “Your CAT did this to you??” (I fell while chasing my cat), which opened the door for me to begin a sarcastic pre-surgery conversation about the accident. He shared his story about his own recently acquired, annoying cats. I appreciate quick wit, and was immediately reassured, while fully confident that he was the right surgeon for me.

During the weeks and months of rehab and follow-up visits, Dr. Warren was calm, explained any lingering concerns I had, and interpreted follow-up Xrays for me. He continued to communicate in a straightforward yet easygoing manner.

I’ve now been able to get back to my favorite activity, yoga. My flexibility, range of motion, stamina, and strength are almost 100%. I can take hikes, travel, and physically do things that one freak fall took away from me in a matter of minutes. And at each follow-up appointment, we still complain about our cats.

After a high velocity bike crash in the Sierra Nevadas and a long ambulance ride later I found myself at a regional hospital where poor advice was dispensed freely. Once I returned home, my orthopedist took one look at my chart, told me I needed to seek immediate care beyond his capacity by way of an orthopedic traumatologist and sent me directly to the ER for more imaging with a referral to Dr. Warren, his top recommendation.

After my first conversation with Dr. Warren I saw a clear path forward and my progress has been consistent with his initial projections, if not better. Dr. Warren’s inquisitive nature, careful listening and ability to take the raw material of problems and craft them into solutions, in my case quite literally, is exactly what I needed to heal. While I hope my family and friends don’t require the services of an orthopedic traumatologist, should the need arise I would not let them see anyone else.

I heartily recommend Dr. Warren to any potential orthopaedic patient. He has done three surgeries for me, all of which have been minimally stressful and hugely successful. He explains procedures clearly, answers all questions and puts me at ease. In short, he relieves the anxiety that most people feel at such a time. Unlike some “king of the hill” surgeons, he never treats any question as dumb. His sense of humor relaxes a patient and his genuine interest suggests that he really cares about the medical outcome.
